Hi fellas, recently i hit a bunch of forums with my partners and street team in hopes of spreading some music... in all we hit over 100 forums.

In these messages, the code to my site was
[code:1:07e123d47f][URL=http://www.neblinarecords.com]neblinarecords.com[/URL][/code:1:07e123d47f]

My question is, will these serve me as backlinks? I've noticed a lot of the forums have been indexed, yet only 1 or 2 of them show up in link popularity searches...

Actually when we did this a while back i wasn't doing it for SEO, i was just trying to get my music out. Now that i know better, should i make the link:
[code:1:07e123d47f][URL=http://www.neblinarecords.com]Underground Hip hop at neblinarecords.com[/URL][/code:1:07e123d47f]
or similar if i want to target underground hip hop as my keyword?

yahoo shows more backlinks than google does...

Google will only show sites that are linking to you with a PR4 or better (PR where your link is located at)

try using:

@:www.site.com

sometimes google shows links with a lower pr, but usually it is only shows ones with a higher pr

it depends on the individual forum.

most forums won't be picked up. most threads won't be picked up. you need to either be "lucky" or know what to look for in a forum
