Is anyone familiar with Traffic-Power.com?
Just curious if anyone has accually used them or worked with them.. Are they a legit business?
They claim to have over 5,500 clients which they charge $4000 per 20 keywords. They also claim to do "advertising pages", such as doorway pages, but claim they do it in an "OK" manor.

I'd be interested in more info on Traffic Power too. We are bidding on a site overhaul and the owner is in love with Traffic Power. Is it legit. Any chance what they are doing will get my prospects site banned in the future?
They did manage to get one of their "key words" to number 1. Seems to be a pretty non-competive word though.

based on lots of feedback I have seen and the fact that their site is not in Google's index I would say the probability is greater than 0.
today on my blog somebody let me know that traffic power is getting investigated

The truth about Traffic-Power.com
I know about Traffic-Power.com because I used to work in their sales department and I am very familiar with their deceptive sales practices. Before I begin I want everyone who reads this to know that I am not a disgruntled former employee with an axe to gring but someone with a conscious who could not longer work for a company that takes advantage of unsuspecting customers.
This company sells a search engine optimization program that is vastly overpriced. The sales people have wide discretion to sell the program for whatever price they think they can get. The bottom end price is $600 for a 6-12 month program and I've seen the same exact program sold to unsuspecting customers for over $5000. These salesmen talk a good story. For the most part the sales force comes into the company with no internet marketing knowledge and after hearing other sales persons pitch for a few days, they get on the phone and act like they have years of experience. These guys will use high presure or whatever it takes to part you from your money. They work in a boiler room environment.
The sales pitch relies heavily on showing examples of other client results and providing so called client "references". The examples they show are by far the exception to the rule. The average client gets nowhere near these results. As for the references these are actually "singers" for the company. In other words the company provides a financial incentive for them to provides a positive reference, such as having their sites maintained at no cost after their initial contract expires as long as they "sing" for the company.
The search engine optimization program uses doorway pages that they call advertising pages. These can gain some placement results in the short run but it risks the furror of the search engines, who may blackball your site in the long run for using deceptive practices. If you decided to use this approach anyway, you would be much better off getting your own software package (eg, Web Position Gold) and doing it yourself. They also link your site to other client sites and FFA pages. Personally I think there are better optimization approaches to doorway pages and link farms.
Once you purchase and your program gets underway, you will be handed off to a technician whose only goal is to get the programming done as fast as possible and posted on your site. Don't believe the pitch that it is a time consuming process. It is done with automated software and after they fill in a few blanks on their screens they hit a key and the code is generated.
Finally if you ever have concerns about the process or the results you will be directed to the help desk ie. customer service dept. You will find this to be a frustrating experience as they will defend the company tooth and nail. You are always wrong and will not get your money back.
My suggestion is to not to deal with this company. If you recently paid with a credit card, get your credit card company to DO A CHARGE BACK. This is the one thing the company fears and will not fight.

True!
I heard only the worst things about traffic-power.com.
Your website might do good in a short time, but will probably get banned in the long run.

or he is just another seo looking to smear competition
you never know, traffic power probably is total junk but when was last time you saw people praising other seos on any board, unless they are in bed together somehow
anyone can say anything on these forums
I could get another login and say I work for Awall19 and how is the biggest crook in the world , and you could sit and say that you work alone you have no idea what I am talking about.
But If I did that on every forum pretty soon , a lot of people would start repeating it
then people would be like "its that awall18 guy, yeah I heard bad things about him"
the wonderful world of internet marketing , close to total anonymity and just about zero accountability

maybe, but since I have had many people contact me about getting cold called by traffic power AND since I listened to one of their salesmen myself and since he wanted to help promote a site that is so bad that I am too embarrassed to post the url of I tend to believe much of the negative stuff said about them.
when a person contacts me for seo with a site similar to the one he wanted to help me with I tell them that I would not promote a site like that.

awall19, I believe your page is very helpful for others. There are too many scam on the Internet. I was cheated by easysitehits.com, normally I'm not too silly to believe this kind of bullshit, mainly because it was recommended by an active forum poster whose posts looks very honest to me. They didn't send even ONE real visitor, only messed up my log file, maybe I should set up a page for them :-)

hey you are probably right , but its so easy to start up rumors on these forums
it would be so easy to get a group of friends , or even just a bunch of logins and sit and say anything
on anohter forum some guy (like I said who probably works for traffic power) was exposing a bunch of jimworld people for possing as dis-satified customers etc for some seo company
(and this might be all bs too)
Go mention the name of any successful (or percieved succesful seo company) on any 'ethical' board and watch the slander campaign begin

I did buy traffic power services, I admit it! Last August one of my clients was looking for a way to add pages and link exchanges to their site. We reveiwed several services including traffic power (TP). TP wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive but they did offer the most for what my client wanted. The keyword promise is pretty unprofessional, in my humble opinion. They want you to okay 20 keyword phrases with little to no competition. Heck even an 8 year old can get a number one placement in 40 search engines for a keyword that has no competition. Well -- I studied the results and made several changes in the last 10 months of using the TP service and I've found they can get you in the top 10 position in many of the coveted search engines and directories for keyword/phrases with competition of 35,000 or less sites. If you've been online for more than a couple of years you can probably get the same results without using a service. But, you wont run the risk of the doorway pages getting you black-listed.
Customer service is good, the technicians are willing to work but obviously working in a sweat-shop environment, sales people are well versed and it seems there is always a pro handy with the right spitshine to toss in. I was able to get a 25% discount without too much negotiating. Followup was timely the first three or four months, but has slowed more and more as the account matures to the end of the one year contract. The turnaround seems pretty fast in that I have never found the same person to still be working there for more than 2 months.
Would I use them again? Would I recomend them to clients?
Probablyy not. I guess if I had a client who wanted dozens of well placed keywords and wasn't interested in quality traffic I would use this kind of service.
