Hello,
could anyone around here with the CMS experience tell which are the best CMS platform for a SEO campaign of a travel website? any particular reasons for your choice?

I believe that Joomla is the best platform to provide Search engine friendly web address..but unfortunately our server doesn't seem to support "mod_rewrite" required for such. anyone with better ideas?

It's going to be very difficult for you to get around mod_rewrite. The CMS's internal frameworks generally work around a single file that acts as a controller to grab all the other pages. With mod_rewrite, it's very easy to make this hidden and appear to have nice URL's. Without it, you're likely to get http://www.mycmssite.com/index.php?x...=34223&z=23452

Are you hosting the site yourself or using a provider, if so, who? You should definitely switch to a provider that allows mod_rewrite.

In Joomla 1.5, even with mod_rewrite, you can still get some decent SEO Urls. With mod_rewrite off, they will look like mysite.com/index.php/category/section/page-name. With mod_write on, they look like mysite.com/category/section/page-name. I think the first one should still work for SEO, but perhaps someone else can confirm.
