HTML vs PHP pages?

Hello

I am just finishing an SEO job for one of our main clients.

I instructed our designer to use basic html for all the important pages I have optimised for, the core and long tail phrases.

He has just shown me the finished site, all the pages are php even the ones I specifically asked to be HTML.

Q: does Google and the like index and rank php pages the same as HTML or will I have to get the designer to redo the main pages as basic HTML?

Everyone's thoughts, opinions, and experiences are much appreciated.

Best regards

It's the same for SEO purpose

.html is not any better than .php

In fact, I choose .php over .html

It doesn't matter on SEs whether you use .html or .php... Your choice of using either of the two should be made on basis of your site management. Use whatever you think will be more appropriate to your needs... Good luck...

Both PHP and HTML are being ranked the same way to Google. You're probably thinking of the old days when search engines had trouble crawling dynamic pages, but that problem isn't really one anymore.

Like Frenchita said, if you really prefer HTML, research MOD_REWRITE and you'll be able to achieve similar results, but it may not really be worth all that effort is SEO is your concern.

Html is the "for sure" way... php used to be hard to get ranked way back in the day. Shouldn't be a problem now. Some people edit their .htpaccess page to rewrite to html. I personally prefer PHP, but either should be fine.

I will site some of its differences.

1. HTML pages crawl by robots much faster because in dynamic pages like PHP, the robots first wait for the response of the server(like SQL) for its request. These factor dont affect your SERP as long as the robots complete the crawling for your page.
2. The URL. This might be the big difference but it can be fixed through .htaccess so not a big issue.

In conclusion, Robots loves all different races of web pages even if it was built in HTML, PHP or even in Pearl as long as it was crawlable, there's no big issue about it.
