Your article will appear on the first or second page of SERP in a week or 2. This way, the traffic to that ezinearticle article will be siphoned out to your site.

The second article is used mainly to generate backlinks.

Now that your articles is all over the directories, it will get picked up and be published on someone else's site. More backlinks!

Now, that's how you solve your traffic and backlink woos.
