There are many article directory lists in this forum and you can use them by searching in this forum.
And about the OP, i usually use article submission for optimizing my websites, Then press releasing and blog commenting.

I voted other (forum profiles).
For me, there are just not enough article or website directories that carry enough weight and authority to create many backlinks on. There are, however, a huge amount of forums and I even went as far as creating custom mods and scripts to generate profiles on forums where others simply can't. And the results speak for themselves!

However, I have to add that not all links are created equal. No matter where or how you build your links, you want to make sure that the site you put your link on is of high quality. There are lots of factors Google looks at when determining the value of a link, f.e. if there's the nofollow attribute or not, the PR value, number of outgoing links on that particular page, if the page is part of an authority domain, the loading and crawl speed and a few more.

Always go for high quality links, not some $10 spam blast from BHW

Directory Submission and Social Bookmarking Provide you only one back-link while Article Submission Provide you one or more back-link .
So Article Submission give you better traffic than Directory submission and Social Bookmarking.

Actually any method alone can not give you huge I mean a real huge traffic.
You need to get master with Article submission, social bookmarking, forum posting and guest posts in high traffic sites....
If any one can do this, he can be king of traffic and can easily get ahead then their competitors....

2.)Specific Keyword Postioning
Make sure you place keywords in the specific areas that search engine crawlers look for them. Place keywords in titles, description, and tags
3.)Content
Have optimized and original content
4.) Keyword Research based on “Time-Spent”
Most important is this one. Spent quality time to find which are the most popular keywords . Google Adwords Keyword Tool or Google Insight and Google Suggestions are good examples of some of the tools you can use to find the right keywords for you.
