Traffic is more important on Alexa Ranking. The higher the traffic, the higher your Alexa rankings.

I was looking in seo forums about ways of improving your Alexa rank, I was stunned when I found seo people aren't interested in that rank. I read answers like "what would you need that for? It's not that accurate so it's just silly to do anything about it." but there are more than one reason to prove that Alexa rank is important.

Simple............Participate in relevant forums...after few submissions you will have a option to give your site link in the signature....then continue the discussions in forums. check with the google analytics you will get a tremendous results in that...include yahoo answers also in these forums.....i had a personal experience

Try googling increase Alexa rank, there are many excellent articles on how to do it.

First step is to install Alexa toolbar on your computer. Next is to get people who probably have it installed already to visit your site. (i.e. people like webmasters who visit forums such as these.)

actually i tried the following, after few weeks my ranking got increased...but donno if it was becoz of this but still u can give it a try

1. Add alexa toolbar/alexa ranking button to your firefox browser. I heard that every time a person with alexa toolbar sees your site your alexa ranking goes up.
2. Add Alexa ranking code from their page for your site to your webpage
3. Main thing make your webpage your home page.

Get all of your friends to download and install Alexa toolbar. Then they have to go click your site 40 times a day everyday for 2 weeks.
That's how alexa works.

It counts the time browsers with alexa tool bar installed go to your site. If a person without alexa toolbar goes to your site, the number doesn't count.

Now you know why people say "alexa is garbage"

You can just download the alexa tool bar and search your site everyday, it will grow from that

If you want to enhance Alexa rank then start doing different off page optimization for three months continuously.
