shared hosting and Flash

I am just wondering if it is possible to host flash models on shared hosting accounts?

You shouldn't have any issues as long as the clients have a flash player already installed on their computer.

I believe that he would like to take care of web site first of all.
I think that it is possible to find such niche of web hosting offers.
http://hostww.net/inner.php - web hosting provider that provide what you are looking for. They seem to be specialized in providing web hosting for shopping carts.

Will it be some type of portfolio for flash web sites?
Sure you can host them if bandwidth allows.

HostWW.net provides their web hosting free for the first month. Many features are included into their package plans. Seems nice for me.

I can't understand this thread either. If they are asking if a host will allow a flash file on their site, most would since it is just another file to show like .gif, .jpeg, etc. The real issue is if your user doesn't have the flash plugin installed on their browser.

Flash is supported with the majority of hosts, you won't have any probs here.

Flash runs on client side (browser) not on the server. As long as the host allow the mime type, there should not be any issue.

Seems to be a lot of confussion on this thread.

Here's the deal:

FLASH is typically served via a source call to a .swf ( putting it really simply here ). There two sides to this, then: on the one side, the server must recogize what an .swf or other FLASH export file type is as a MIME type . . . on the other side, the end-user must have a FLASH player installed.

To get back to the original question, as long as the host has the approprite MIME type installed correctly for the FLASH file type you need to display in your end-users' browsers, then you should be able to serve FLASH "modules" as easily as .jpg's with your web host.
