I've just saved $49991.01.

I've reserved the domain name fliptheswitchphoto.com

I plan to set it up to be a place where customers can share photos of their lighting projects and possibly run a 2014 Christmas light house flip your switch competition.

We're always posting tips and suggestions to improve your website here on V7N - how do you translate those ideas to reality?

What is one way you worked to promote your site's authority after reading this thread?

Speaking up in forums, commenting on blogs, sharing useful information via infographic are some of the the best ways to build authority. And brand authority is really helpful. It gives an insight on whether to listen to a brand or not.

Actually, not to be a party-pooper, forums and commenting are not as useful as they used to be, in fact, they might even be considered spammy and should probably be avoided unless it's in a forum targeted to your specific niche and you are actually engaging your customers.

I agree to some extent. Most of the comments and posts are spammy but if you are really in it for the information, your posts or views definitely stand out and make inroads.

I would suggest you can just become a weekly contributor of a blog that is related to your niche in a sense. That might help with getting the brand out there as you would have a author byline or allowed at least 1 link of yours in the blog posts.

If you can use a few dollars to promote your fanpage on Facebook, that might help with getting some likes then you can communicate with that person on the fanpage.

I belong to blogengage.com and a few times a week I am on there trying to connect with other bloggers.

Lot of discussions and debates are going on for this kind of Domain of website authority talks, A website with high authority may be good for linking and inspite of other things it can increase your authority too.

There is an ongoing debate on this kind of authority mechanisms like http://linkd.in/1n5dc16 where I have discussed on how authority and branding matters for domain and how it is useful

These are time consuming and thought provoking ideas. What I would say is that tackle them in time. You cannot build a brand in one day. But If you can make a name for your business you will be rewarded generously. So, have a long term plan and put it in action.
