Remember you listened to a recent song "Remember the name" Now this phrase was multiple times repeated by the artist, thus it was the name of the song. Same is with the keywords.

Nice example Jason, I agree with you. Vicky, Try to find out repetative words in your website and target them as a primary keyword. But make sure that keywords will be help you to generate your website traffic when he would be top on search engine page.

Out of interest, why would you want to find what the keyword was set to on a page? If you have competing content surely it only matters that you outrank them for your target search term?

There are tools and techniques through which you can find many keyword suggestion just by entering your primary keyword, but before that you have to decide what is that one word that describes best about your website. You don't know how to find primary keyword, but know how to post in Seo Forums.

Isn't it quite strange?

Check for the page's keyword density. Targeted keyword will most likely be the one with the highest number.

If you wrote a article and need to figure out keyword or keyword phrase them try a keyword density tool and see what is top keywords. Then use a keyword discovery tool to find keywords that get good traffic. Then make a few different anchor text for the site and use those in any backlinks you get for the site.

You might want to try using a Firefox plugin like "SEOquake". It comes in handy for finding the keyword/phrases on a webpage as well as their keyword density.

There's also plenty of websites where you can just pluck in the URL and it will give you an analysis of the page and it's keywords/density.
