In remembrance of member @deepsand, who was a stickler for details and knew at least something about just about everything.

I remember his occasional replies of "ipse dixit" as being the most unexpected, but totally deepsand.

Gone, but not forgotten!

If you take some time look back to some of his past posts, when he was still feisty ( before he took ill), you will get a glimpse of how knowledgeable he was on pretty much anything.

I can't believe another year has gone by so I thought I'd give this thread a bump.

In remembrance of member @Deepsand, who passed away on November 14th, 2013 in Bellefonte, PA

I'm thankful I still hang around here, because when I'm active on this forum, I still think about member @Deepsand from time to time. I still search out some of his posts and threads in which he was engaged with any topic, because he knew so much about just about everything. Then I recall his last days he was in touch on the forum and by PM, and it just makes me kind of sad. Sad that he's gone, but glad that he wasn't suffering any longer.

I had more contact with him over at WPW, long before they pulled the plug on that forum. Too bad - it was a good site.

Anyhow, his last posts here were in a "Quotes" thread. Kind of solemn, and not reminiscent of his bold statements and facts spread out here and there over the years.

I recall him not being very happy and being in a lot of discomfort near the end, but still communicating with some members over at WPW about technology and his condition, before he just stopped posting. Sad.

God willing, if I'm still around next year, I have a note in my calendar to try and locate, and bump this thread annually on the date of his passing.

There was a local election that took place recently, and I discovered a lot of FB groups created to connect everyone to support their candidates and unfortunately, put the others down in rather awful ways, as the election neared.

There was a lot of arguing, name calling and downright ugly engagements from time to time, but there was one poster who knew right-from wrong and called it like he saw it, with strong arguments, not much dirt throwing - just facts and supporting elements to backup his posts.

Kinda reminded me of Deepsand in a way. By that I mean in reference to DS, it was almost impossible for any opposing posters to argue with him because he always had a way of denouncing and countering the other's points and opinions in a not so aggressive way. Although Deepsand's encounters were less emotional than the local elections poster I mentioned above, DS's encounters were certainly based on strong logic and factual evidence.

I guess this is just a bump, really.

I missed my yearly post back in Nov 2019 to renew and resurrect this thread for Deepsand. I'm not sure if I'll be posting come this November, so I thought I'd do this now, while this forum is still alive, and so am I.

I don't think I'll truly forget Deepsand. I remember those that posted things that were really helpful to me - both in business, and when I was a Moderator/Admin on a few forums in the past. I remember WilliamC, Steve, MJ, snakeair, Morestar, Cricket, Doc, and of course, more recently, Scriptman, HTML, J. H. Rasmussen (if I forgot someone - I'm sorry! - fading memory!!).

I think I joined WPW (now gone) in 2007, it was a great forum. And although I joined this forum much later, that, which I learned at WPW, helped me to help some people here.

Anyway, to Deepsand, who I learned so much - technical and tactical, I hope to never forget!
