review: mayercleaning.co.uk

This is a new site for us i've designed solely for the cleaning we do. I've tried to make it responsive depending on the screen size and i think it works well.

the design is clean and simple i hope.

One thing i'd like to know is do you feel enough attention is drawn to our online quote system? i was thinking of adding an always there link at the top saying "book online - 10% off!"

If you want to test out the mobile responsive side of the blog, use this free testing tool from StudioPress. Just enter URL and that's it. http://www.studiopress.com/responsive/

Add alt-text content to the menu bar. You know when you hover over a menu item something popups up in a tiny box. Remember the tiny details matters.

I'm not a fan of too aggressive selling practices. The customer will find the quote item if interested and impressed. Just one such item is enough. May be use a red colors so visitor can see it.

What about those enormous PNG images? Make them JPG and optimize all images.

Your site looks ok, but you have also design it for all devices.
Use repsonsive css, to make it work nice in all screens (tablet/smartphones,etc)

thanks for the tips guys. I hadn't realised the responsive ness of the site wasn't as hot as i had first thought. have checked my oven cleaning website and it's the same across all. will make some changes to it. are the sizes on studio press the ones to generally go for? with so many screen sizes now it's hard to know the dimensions to design for

have added the alt-text to the nav menu now thanks for that idea. do users read alt hover text often?

I think the logo should imply cleaning services, maybe adding a cleaning brush or soap suds. Also, look into an SSL certificate for your site.

For me took it around 10 seconds to load, however I am writing from different country...

1.Design:
I like it, the colors are good for cleaning company, maybe put more space and put different color on the sidebar testimonial (it's too dark but its my personal opinion)
2.Accessibility
Everything fine except menu - needs to be mobile
3.Overall:
7/10
