Related sites. Right now most of our ad budget goes to SEO and webmaster related sites. The best deals are often on the sites run by an individual, as opposed to sites run by larger businesses.

If the ad costs $200 a month, I would need to realize at least $400 a month in submissions from that ad. Not good to just break even.

Most of WM knows that concept, the question was how to spend $200 to get at least $200+ back? I am asking you that what is the decision point to buy the ads from related sites? thanks again.

Invest wisely. That's how you get at least $200 back.

There are many off the shelf directory scripts which work well, and get the job done. Do a search on V7N and you'll likely find a few.

i have hear more interner business on internet like website directory, article directory, dating script, also 1000 pages websites.

I read brad callen, he has put the emphasis on promoting the website.. with out promotion you internet business will not run...

Points for Successful Internet Business.

- Don't depend on only one website. Always look for multiple websites on different topic.

- Always promote the websites and do seo and internet marketing.

- The position and color of adsence is very important. Do always do analysis to check various position.

Don't invest heavly but smartly because some times small websites and business concept can generate more revune then one big website.

sorry, but that your interest to invest in any business....and that depend on your budget also.

if i have good budget then i can have messenger clone like www.e-messenger.net

Please share & suggest your views.

Well, I read through what everyone said, but nobody seemed to mention this idea. If you like it, design templates for people. Templates can usually sell for about $60 on some sites, while other will sell them for $300. The corporate ones are the more expensive ones, while gaming templates (such as clan sites and such) usually go for cheaper. Here's an awsome site you can look at for an example! clantemplates.com

Of course, if you don't like doing this, don't do it. This can get very boring if you don't like it - or i've heard.

Another easy way to get money though is by just leaving your computer on. There are programs that will pay you for every 1,000 views (CPM). All you need to do is put a few different codes in there, and submit it to an autosurf program. ONLY do this for CPM programs that say it is allowed though, otherwise you can get in trouble. And yes, there are autosurf programs who allow this, as well as some CPM sites, but they are rare to find. I don't do this, but it is an idea!

Some other big money makers ar owning traffic exchange programs. These scripts cost around $50 to buy, and will generate themselves money. You put a little effort into its creation, set the prices for credits (like a 2:1 surf ratio, but you can buy 100 credits for $5). You advertise this, and you can generate some great income! Anyway, just some ideas.

Of course, the last two are for bottomfeeders like me, as I am considering these But that is just me, I am hoping to do this to support my site, since it is making me no cash, go figure >> I make a real site, and get nothing, how does that work out? lol

Here's my 2 bits of advice for getting into an online business- become the supplier of the shovels and pick axes to those who are digging for gold.

In the late 1800's, during the gold rush era in California, the people who made the most money were not the gold miners themselves, but instead, were the people who supplied the gold miners with pick axes and shovels.

I run a content creation business, and even sell my actual business plan based on that business, and can honestly say I've made a ton of money being that supplier of content for 100's of webmasters trying to find that next dollar.

Don't become the digger, become the supplier

John,

Did you have to have a good pr before people started paying for sumitions or did you get paying customers from the begining when your pr was 0.

I am also looking to start a new internet business and Mr Scotts recommendation to create a web directory is very appealing. I have $10,000-$12,000 to start a business presently. Of course I have a number of questions to get started however I was wondering what about a web directory idea that centers around a game? Wherein the member would sign up for a one - time initial fee but then as a memebr of the directory they become eligable to play games the directory supports and the players become eligable to win prizes.

As well what do you think about a simple directory that only directs links to sites/blogs within one industry but is categorized by vertical markets under that industry and location ie: sports directory- sub category: golf location: ie: NY. Is it too limiting in scope? I have an idea for a directory within a business area I have been involved in for 10 years (not sports) and I thought it possibly would be an area that is so large in scope that such a directory tactic would be probable. I can only find directories with the industry I am eluding to mixed with autos to sports for example but not on its own and the industry I am looking at is so large that I feel it could support itself without links to any and all vertical market categories. More or less to sum up a specialized directory of one large industry.

I see most directories cover all types of vertical markets from autos to sports links to related websites but I thought that is too convoluted. Any thoughts?

Selling your own advertising, rather than running the Google Gauntlet, is a buiness model with a lot to recommend it. Particularly if you use one of the scripts available - <Affiliate Link Removed by Admin> for instance - to cut out all perceptions of fraud.

The popular PPC ads, banners etc are wide open to exploitation - you see 'click-fraud' articles everywhere lately - but webmasters still build thousands of sites carrying the ads. Why? Because they get big payouts. Advertisers still keep paying for those clicks. Why? Because they get profitable returns.

And do Google and Yahoo run the services at a loss? Hardly. Why not take a tiny sliver of their pie by offering a service that performs better simply because it chops the fraud, and doesn't need the daily maintenance Adwords/Overture require. i.e. fixed price, with no bumping.

This model gives you a business that grows under its own steam.

Jack

JohnScott, the seven seek links worked well for my dental site thanks. I have an seo that can get many top 10 rankings in google for major keywords at pretty reasonable prices. Would be it be worth it to create a directly since i have limited knowledge of them(except for submitting to them) What in your opinion would be the best way to utilize this seo's talents. Ecommerce?, ebook???????? Im going crazy out of my mind trying to find this answer out and some of the seo message boards were extremely hostile when i mentioned this. Anyone, can u lend a hand here with an idea.
PS i am not an seo even though i did get top 10 rankings for a site with directory submissions(my crowning accomplishment in life) heheheheh

Brian why are people still stuck on pr? It seems to me that the best directories that helped me most were the ones who had very low pr rankings yet had many relevant links on them. I am also looking to partner on a business concept. I dont know much about new business ideas , i just have a very talented seo. Im going nuts trying to make something of this lol.

We can always do two business' at once.
One for financial gain and one that's cool and fun.
Sites that do well at first might not be as sleek but are more for information. That's what people want is information.
Earn money with a web directory or something else similar (not so fun except the money part) then take that money and invest it in the fun and exciting business your really into.
I'm new to the whole marketing thing but I think this has some truth to it.
