I find that a heated mattress pad with dual controls is the best overall treatment. I use my side almost all year long, not turning it on until 3 AM in the warmer months and only very low during those months.

I have the heated mattress pad with dual controls also. During the cold weather, normally I'll turn it on 30 minutes before bed, and then turn it off once I turn in. If I'm a little cold for some reason during the night, I have turned it back on every now and then. I just have to remember to turn it off when I get up though. Electricity isn't cheap.

A little late to the discussion of aches and pains but have either of you tried SierraSil? Worth a try.

I'm dabbling in wine making cause beer making sounds like way too much work.

I had to do a jump start because 2 of the items won't be available for almost a year.

Currently fermenting is a gallon of tomato wine and a gallon of watermelon wine.

My very first try a 1/2 gallon of hard cider should be ready to drink in about 3 days. That is super simple to make using store bought apple juice and regular yeast. The others are more involved.

You have more wherewithal than I do. I'll just go to the LCBO or grocery store for wine if we have dinner guests coming. There's that, and when relatives show up for 10 days at Xmax, they usually stop off at the store and bring a case of wine, which lasts well beyond Xmas and New Years.

And as far as beer goes, a case of 24 will last me all summer.

I'm a cheap date, and I salute you for your tenacity in this venture!

Are you easy to get drunk? Should I spread the word around the females?

Second physio appointment on wonky knee done today. It's going to be slow, but recovery is still positive. No golf, but moving around is fine.

Still having the ultrasound done at the end of the month. I'm sure the prognosis will be the same: arthritis and related pills, supplements and decreased mobility to come.

Maybe I can get one of those scooters now, and modify the drive mechanism to use a small-block V8 engine.

Never made it back. For some reason it was a busy day.

After we went to Great Britain (2012) and I tried to walk the entire thing it took me about 2 months of doing virtually nothing to get mine back to normal. Mine was so bad I did wheelchair though the airports on the return trip. Slow down, take it easy and it should get better.

Sorry the government is restricting those to Telsa motors only.

Yikes - sorry to hear that. Taking 2 months off won't work around here. The honey-do list is long enough as it is now.

I'm an old school guy who loves the rumble of a hot-rod style V8. Hell, I even watch NASCAR on an odd Sunday if it's on a big track. The fam thinks I'm nuts. Honestly, I'd love to go to Daytona one day.

Our kids, kids may never understand what a rumbly V8 engine is like to be next to, as it's firing, never mind riding in a car with a big block accelerating to get on the highway.

Tesla motors have lots of HP, so I'm good with one of those for my scooter.

Both of those are best done with moderation.

I believe the V6 in my Maxima has more horsepower than the OEM 351 Cleveland. I'm not sure about the current chevy 350 (I think it's a 5.7 in today's terms), but I'm sure it would do very well against that engine too. My friend had a modified 350 4b carb in a Firebird back in the day - but I can't remember the HP rating on that engine.

Parents use to make wine from concentrate. We had cowboys in our laundry room for years!

I'm not using carboys. I'm playing with small batches in one and 1/2 gallon jugs with airlocks.

Doing the weird watermelon and tomato first since the summer fruit is about gone.

I can enjoy the rumble in the right place at the right time but I drive a 4 banger, the same one since 1996 and no plans to buy a new one with less gas mileage.
