The v7n software, like most forum software, only allows you to edit your posts for a short time after posting them. This allows you to correct minor typos that you discover after you've made the post. (I believe that the window for such corrections is either 15 or 30 minutes.)

After that time, self-editing is locked out. If any member were allowed to go back and change their posts at any time, forum moderation would be an impossible task. Any post that someone had ever made could be edited to include profanity, spam links or anything else that person wished to insert.

If you have something critical that you really want/need to have changed, you can always PM a moderator and ask that the change be made. (Please don't do this, though, for minor misspellings and grammar errors. It's just not worth the time and trouble to fix those.)
