There are probably lots of sites that test these thing and report them, but my experience has been that Google's Chrome OS is blazing. There may be faster browsers, but you also want something that supports all the latest protocols and has enough features to be useful. Chrome seems to make all the right tradeoffs.

I tried this Maxthon yesterday seems to be fast, need to look at it more. but Firefox is helpful to identify any website client issues and is also faster compared to chrome.

Yes I am simply using Maxthon now, not only is it really fast but it's also got all sorts of useful settings you can adjust like type "fb" in the address bar and you go straight to facebook.

I use chrome as my everyday browser. Mostly because I browse on different laptops and tablets and chrome easily syncs between them.

When I'm doing seo work, looking for high pr blogs etc, I use firefox. Firefox has better plugins in this area imo. I also find Firefox performs better with flash content. Although this may be just a particular case for me. I usually use last.fm etc. in Firefox.

Is it just me, or does having lots of bookmarks on chrome slow it down substantially? Obviously I have chrome on different devices and the bookmarks are synced from each one, resulting in lots of bookmarks.

I'm keen to give Maxthon a go, but doubt it will replace Chrome if it doesn't sync between my different devices.

Actually... I think I get that as well because Chrome for me was faster initially, then I built up bookmarks, and then I thought "well this is slow, I need to find some other better browser." Hence Maxthon, where I'm now bookmarking things again.

I know it's available for Mac and iPhone as well as for PC, but I don't know if you can sync stuff between them all.
