Do you purchase glasses online?

Since I have glasses for driving and glasses for working at my computer, I've started purchasing them online at discount glasses websites.

The results have been pretty good so far and it's nice to match my glasses to my outfit.

I just ordered a new pair and paid extra for the non-reflective coating because I'm hoping to solve a reflection problem in videos.

Would you order glasses online?

I have from clearlycontacts. Was very cheap and all I did was submit my prescription and chose my frame. The lens did seem fragile however. I did drop them several times and sit on them. So this certainly did not help, haha.

The only downfall is you cannot try them on.
It is nice being able to put on multiple pairs and see what suits you best.
An idea would be to do so before going online to order. That way you have an idea what you would like to get.

I've had some trial and error involved but since I usually pay about $20 from zenni, it's not the end of the world.

To increase my success, I've done a couple of things:

1. Upload a photo to actually try them on my face.

2. Record the dimensions of a pair of glasses that work really well and try to come as close to those numbers as possible.

I have an issue because I am not the biggest person in the world even though I'm tall-ish. I have to order .... children's glasses.

Thank goodness they have better kids frames than when I was a kid.

I don't see how you could possibly get correct fit for something you ordered off the net. Frames need to be tuned to the wearer. It might be fine for reading glasses but when you get to the bifocal stage you need a pro job. I've used the same lab for 55 years.

There are many firms that now do re-glaze, so one can have a good frame and all the heights etc from when that frame was first glazed but use the new prescription. It's a route I am considering, having paid expensively for frames last time and having all the measurements for these frames and I now have a new prescription.

I have ordered glasses online before and they turned out fine. Sometimes, there are sites that allow your pair of glasses to be free! Anyway, I know which styles look nice on me so it's not a problem to order. I've also noticed big brands sold online too (Gucci, Dolce.., etc.) which I've never had a problem after ordering. Adjustments can be made at certain places too.
