How to barter for domain names?

Most EMD are taken and what pisses me off is that the owners didn't utilize it. Anyone knows a strategy to buy EMD domains from people?

Find out the owner's number/mail and give them an offer? If the domain isn't utilized, it is quite probably on sale.

Now this is where negotiating skills take place. You can try to buy it directly or offer them some kind of partnership. Where there's a will there's a way

Barter for a domain? In this business, all I have seen is cash speaks.
You should definitely just contact them with an offer (think of a number before hand) and work from there. If he rejects, you can make a counter offer but don't get taken advantage of.

Most domain owners are not going to just give it to you though. You will usually have to made a decent offer and even then some seller are looking for ridiculous figures.

The best way is to talk directly to the owner by giving them a call. This would be better than e-mailing as they will be surprised. So the bigger their surprise is, the bigger your chances to buy his domain are.

Good luck!

Most of my lesser quality domain names could not be sold, and were left undeveloped and gathering 'digital dust'. Could not properly monetize the names, and renewal dates were drawing nearer. Because of the circumstances, they had to actively search out fellow domain owners to barter trade my names with theirs. Today, every domainer in the same boat can actively 'trade-up' their domains and that is an extra alternative instead of just letting their domains expire.
