Haha I remember TK, I think redirect or something was always messed up with it, I don't know, I used it years ago on a free site and it drove me crazy.

You have nameserver control as you can change these and host on your own hosting plan its all you really need from a free domain.

I have never used a .tk or any free domain for that matter for hosting a proper site mainly due to my worry that google may not index or rank these the same

I have used it for some days but later i moved to .com, because .tk is not widely recommended or it doesn't offer a dns service to freely registered .tk domain. If we pay for .tk domain name then they ll offer dns service.. and here my point is why to pay for .tk when we get .com or other extension for the same price

.tk redirecting domain was horrible in my opinion. I remember they implemented ads and having your domain static at yoursite.tk was not helpful in terms of developing the site SEO wise.

When I started out with websites I had one .tk domain, was quite good back then. But now there is a constant fear that google may de-index them like they did with co.cc. Hence I do not recommend anyone to use them.

if a site is inactive for 90 days with a .tk site it gets deleted I don't think it is worth the effort in my opinion if it will just get deleted
