Yeah you can also use it for making the logos. Photoshop is the great software which best suits for the photo editing applications and also gives the nice effects. You can make the logos and is the best software i prefer.

I use Photoshop for all my logo creations. Hasn't let me down to this date, but I haven't really explored other programs to create logos yet but I might give Illustrator a shot.

I'd have to say it depends on the person. I started making logo's with windows paint and then switched over to photoshop. I love it and everything it does. Definitely my logo designing software of choice.

LQTM, I remember the days before I learned design software, trying to make a company logo for an employer using Paint. That's a tough way to go. If I had to cheap out again and only use software already on a standard office computer, I would look at Publisher. With Microsoft Publisher, you can "group" shapes, lines, and type and then save the group as a 300 dpi jpg or png. It leaves a lot to be desired, but I could see a small office with no marketing budget giving it a shot.

Photoshop is one of the best software for logo making. Keep it simple, always try to be little bit unique, keep short message ,don't have the quick animation and always go for the good selection of colours.

I often use cad tools to make logos. I like to draw my idea on ipad and then export image and insert it to cad as background. In next step, I just vectorize the image and that's it. Many advantages: I can group figures, split to layers, easy modify vectors. In last stage, I sometimes use image editor to add some effects.

The logo created by PS is not vector file, so, it can be weel used online and print materials without high requirement. The logo created by illustrator can be well used for any purpose.
