SEO code optimization?

I'm still a noob with SEO. Do I have to optimize my code for better rank. Where optimize means I have to use the least amount of space?

You could start by reading through Google's Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide and make notes which portions of the instructions are related to coding.

I am not sure if optimizing your code would help you rank better in search engine result pages, but 1 thing I do know is that you can control what should appear in your listing when it ranks (more of like making it more catchy, appealing or unique, like displaying 5 stars along with the listing.) by following the conventions that can be found at schema.org. See Google's introduction of this initiative on supporting a common vocabulary for structured data markup on web pages at http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/...h-engines.html

There is not too much to edit in code for seo . The main thing is there shouldn't be any html/css error in your website.

Besides this I would like to add there should be no w3c errors on you site as these are the errors that can effect optimization of site.

Thanks

This is not true, in order for Google compete with Facebook open graph, Google is expect a site structure with schema markup, so that search engine able to index the most relevant content.

I use IBP (Internet Business Promoter) - look it up on Google. You can download a free trial which is brilliant

We have to optimize only in Meta- Title, Description, Tags which should be niche...and some img tags. This will leads to good on-page optimization.

NOTE TO THOSE WHO ANSWER THIS:
You are not allowed to self promote outside the Marketplace in this forum so don't reply with pick me type replies.

bdwilliams,
If you are looking for such a service, check our Marketplace ads or create your own ad asking for quotations.

I would start with the title tags, then desc. tag, h1-h6 headers, make sure the robots.txt is correct and letting G fully index. Then w3c validate. And of course read Google's SEO Beginner's guide. SEOmoz has one as well.

I presume I can still recommend the software I am using. I have mentioned IBP and it works great. Please delete my comment if it infringes your rules.
