Google Analytics, yes, no?

Is Google Analytics the best?
I personally prefer Clicky...

We use AW Stats and as we own our own servers we use some additional custom programs we wrote to get data as we desire from the raw log files

We see Google Analytics as more of a benefit to Google then to the website owner

I completly agree with you, Google Analytics is like giving for free your site data, so Google can use it eventually against your site, adjust their algorithms against your site and the other sites bringing traffic.

Basically a consent of spying on your site and your traffic.

There are times you don't want Google to know much about you, then you can use awstat. Otherwise, who can compete with a 220 billion dollar company.

I can see your points about not wanting Google to have your site info, but they may play favortism with sites that use their services you never know.

Google Analytics are good and regardless of what people say, if Google really wants to know more about your site, they will find a way. I think GA can benefit you and it's free.

Google = All knowing
Therefore hiding something from them is like dividing by 0!

I am not sure about that

If they knew about everything they would'nt be so irrelevant and your traffic would be much more qualified and perhaps will bring more customers.

Google Analytics hands down. Nothing comes even close, especially after they added the "Live Beta".

I use metatraffic and it is live statistics and you can even program urls for your targeted compaign.

Nothing comes even close to Google analytics, right

You guys are living in the Google sphere, perhaps you have to get out of this box to see the world.

I just got to know that Google may spy may site through Google analytics, so I am considering to change it into anther one. In addition, I think Google analytics is a little complicated.
