To get traffic to non-product websites, yes I do. However now you have to pay to advertise your products.

This is spot on. They are a community, much like this and you have to test out your articles to see what they like. As fart as traffic, its good if you put the time in, but it's better for bookmarking.

Some of my blog posts have gotten thousands of visitors from stumbleupon. It was all natural as I've never paid for SU traffic and never would. They can give you great traffic spikes, but I have yet to see any real return on that traffic. It's mostly useless. Still it's nice to see the surge in stats sometimes!

Yes Stumbleupon does bring in a trickle of traffic everyday but it isn't really targeted and thus of not much use.

I am also going to try it now for one of my projects.
Could you guys please tell me what niches/subjects would work there if speaking about traffic generation?

If you use StumbleUpon paid discovery (ads), you tend to get a certain number of free stumbles as a bonus. It's not consistent. I can't figure out how they calculate it. If anyone finds out, please post it.
