Embassies stormed, KFC torched as anger over anti-Islam film rages

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2...rages#comments

Quote:
Updated at 9:55 a.m. ET: Protesters in a number of countries across the Muslim world vented anger against the West on Friday as the controversy over an anti-Islamic film raged, with a KFC restaurant torched in Lebanon, attacks on U.K. and Germany embassies in Sudan, and violent protests in Egypt.

In Sudan, police fired teargas in an attempt to stop about 5,000 demonstrators storming the German and British embassies to protest against the film, a Reuters witness said.

We need to keep in mind that a lot of islamic countries don't believe in freedom of speech.

They'd rather hurt or kill innocent people that had nothing to do with the film (embassy staff etc) than just letting it ride.... So much for peaceful beliefs.

Richard the Lionheart wouldn't have stood for this. Gotta give it to the Christians at least they can take a good ribbing in films, God some of the spoof films I have seen butchering and insulting Jesus would have these Muslims having a heart attack.

It's a sad day when this happens to embassies and consulates which are there to do good and not really anything to do with military action and stuff.

Thoughts?

1. The movie was up for 60 days before the "spontaneous demonstrations"

2. Islamic leaders had been planning the "spontaneous demonstrations" since the end of August.

3. That is what weak leadership gets us.

The movie is just a convenient excuse that the main stream media can point at to explain the protests at so many different embassies.
It draws focus away from the fact that the West has corrupted and/or destroyed and occupied so many Middle Eastern and African countries.
We're not wanted there any more than we'd like North America bombed and occupied by Afghans or Iraqis or Libyans.
The movie may have been the match, but the gasoline soaked rags are strewn throughout the Middle East and have been for quite some time.

Ron Paul has been right about what's going on with economic policy and where it's taking us.
Is it such a stretch to think he would be right about foreign policy?

Put yourself in the shoes of an ordinary Libyan, Iraqi or Afghan.
Our "collateral damage" is terrorism committed against them.

Jake is right when he says that weak leadership has lead us to this.
We need leaders strong enough to stand up to the military industrial complex and put that tiger back in its cage where it belongs.
