Are Web Hosting Reviews Sites for Real?

Can any of the web hosting review sites on the Internet be trusted? Or are most of the hosting reviews on those sites created to make the web hosts they're affiliates for look great so people sign up?

I never trusted them at all. They can look at pretty with unique designs, catching images and fake/real reviews but the whole site is nothing but affiliate links.

I remember a long time ago this type of site was popular so ton's of people created them thinking it was easy money. Only a few survived that actually steal your money

I suggest you to check out the forums for Hosting reviews because in forums most of the reviews are the opinions from real users.

However do read out some of the posts from reputed sites as they will list out the Pros and Cons of different hosting and you could get some idea out of it.

Last but not least majority of the bloggers do include the affiliate links in their posts.

There are a couple real ones. Make sure there are no affiliate links. 99% are fake. If they say BlueHost is awesome, or Hostgator rocks, most likely affiliates.

That is so true. lol

I even thought about creating one of these sites years ago when they started popping up all over the place. Thought it was easy way to make commission's but when I thought about it, it wasn't.

How can we tell which ones are legit and which ones are not? I know you mentioned some hints above.

I came across one site the other day that seemed fairly honest. But then you scroll down and see the same old (highest pay affiliate) hosts. Should have bookmarked the site that seemed honest.

Why? Why would you believe people who are paid to tell you something?

No, they're not reliable at all. Each and every IM and their sisters promoting web hosting services without testing it out.

I have been caught once in their trap and lost hundreds of dollars. One of the blogger suggested me to go with Arvixe web hosting, and the results were horrible. From service to support, all of them were crap.

So, at least I can suggest you to not to go with Arvixe ever.
However, you can believe some reviews which you read on forums.

I'm not a fan of review sites that use affiliate links. Of course they are biased. Just ask around to others and see who they use and if they are happy with them. If you pick a bad host, just move your domain or domains to another one.

even on forum, sometime you won't get real answer also. Best go for host with money back Guarantee, unhappy simply cancel during the period and ask for a full refund.

Though reviews might not be true but they provide a tof information about a particular hosting company. Which helps people to make decision.

We cant say like they provide fake details but for sure everything there is not trust-able and one should not do any kind of decision on the basis of that.

Somehow they post something real, but most of their purpose is to get money via affiliate links. Because there's no blogger that would write something without a hand of money. Anyway if you want to choose the right hosting, ask your friends, ask around. Word of mouth is the most important to choose everything not just hosting.

You'll need to really dig deep. But the important reviews often comes from sites that do reviews not on the sites that offers the service.

You can't trust them all, you gotta search more in different forums and sites, that's a good way to find out.

Never!! The reviews on these hosting sites are usually made up and paid for every sales they generate. Better thing is to visit web hosting forums and check real experience by real people.

Pretty much nailed it there. Don't think this could go any further for the OP's question because the web is full of false reviews and reality is; you can only know the true review by testing it for yourself.
