Unhappy RIP Thomas Kinkade

'Painter of Light' artist Thomas Kinkade dies at age 54

One of most popular artists in America, "Painter of Light" Thomas Kinkade, died Friday at his home in Los Gatos, Calif., his family said.

He was 54, and his family issued a statement that his death appeared to be from natural causes.

"Thom provided a wonderful life for his family,'' his wife, Nanette, said in a statement. "We are shocked and saddened by his death.''

And for those unfamiliar with his work, I suggest you take a look at some of his amazing paintings which can be seen on Google Image Search here:

If you like artistic paintings, I can tell you that you will greatly appreciate Kinkades work.

This is a surprise. I don't own any of his paintings, but did go into a few shops that featured his work. Some were really amazing.

That is sad news. I absolutely love his work.

I hadn't realized he was so young. I never looked into his life except for watching a biographical film at one point, but it wasn't really set in such a way that I realized he grew up in the 60's. Somehow I had envisioned him as being much older, I suppose because his work seemed so established.

It really is sad that he has died. Being so young he could have created so many more wonderful works.

I didn't realize that he had died. That's way too young.

Looks like his success had started to take a toll on his life.

I also think that in order for an artist to be truly great - he or she must know the dark as well as the light.

He'll be missed and I'm sorry that we won't be able to see his work continue to evolve.

He left this world far to young. It's a shame.
