Normally my family and I would go to my grandparents house to meet with other family members like my cousins and we would spend the entire day together eating food and spending time together... However, we recently moved to Texas because of my dad's job so it will just be my intermediate family hanging out tomorrow after going to church.

I'm skipped Church last night. Usually we all go as a family the night before. (Late night mass)

Today, i'm going over my parents house like always for a big italian Easter Sunday bash.

Going to have a Easter Egg hunt for my brothers kids... Age 5 and age 1 and half. My mom went over board and said she made 46 eggs with candy or loose change in them that are hidden on the property. Might be a very long Easter Egg hunt later this afternoon. lol

Dunno what type of feast momma is cooking up but it's always a lot of food as we Italians love Eat and Drink wine.

O and since the in-law's are from Greece, we also celabrate there Greek Holidays as in Easter comes after our Easter. April is a good month for family parties.

Growing up, we always got all the family together (my great-grandma had 7 living daughters, and all their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids) ... there was an Easter egg hunt for us kids, and we'd all spend the day together and eat. I loved Easter.

When my daughter was small, I always did stuff with her. Dyeing and hiding eggs, getting with family, going to the park for an egg hunt, or whatever.

Today ... I got ready for church and discovered the goat kids had shimmied under the fence and were running loose. So by the time I caught them it was too late, and I stayed home. Did nothing really. Thought about having BBQ'd goatling though ...

We decorate eggs the night before. Put out empty Easter baskets and a plate of carrots for the Easter Bunny. Jack has had his same basket for 7 years. Owen has had his for 4.

The boys wake up to baskets full of stuff and a chocolate bunny. This year they got things like geode projects, electronics stuff, and the ever present lego. (Owen at 6 loves stuffed animals and he got a manly hedgehog - brown and very cute.)

Naturally, all the eggs are hidden in the yard and we have to go find them.

Then we have a nice lunch - this year we had leftover ham from Christmas (the end of it) and some sweet potato pie.

It may be sacrilege, but I don't like to go to church on Easter. We go every Sunday all year so I kinda just figure, I'll leave our seats for folks who only make it in on Christmas and Easter. Everyone brings their kids sick or not, it's crowded, there is all that pressure to wear pastels.... LOL I'm an Easter Church humbug. We discuss the Easter story at home but since my kids are 6 and 9, there is a lot there that is pretty heavy.

Hope you all had a nice day yesterday.

I celebrate Easter, by getting together for a Ham dinner and some drinks. Easter is now more of a social event for me, which is fine. I do enjoy the beginning of Spring and Easter is a good place to start!
