In all seriousness, I am participating in StartupWeekend Austin and this is what my team has developed. I'd like feedback from the wonderful people at v7n on what I can do over the next 7 hours to make it better or promote it.

Thanks

It's a funny service, but is far from useful for sites like Twitter.

Edit: awwwh, V7N couldn't fully show it.

I personally have never had a need for such a product, but I've overheard several mods reference their own tiny URLs on twitter.

As I feel very strongly about your kind effort to aid them I've donated a sig for a short time to help out.

Well, i opened a thread on it at DP in the General section. They may get a giggle out of it or they may infract me if they think I'm spamming, but hopefully it'll be considered in the vein intended. What can I say, it's funny and I'm avoiding going out in the pasture to put up panels I need to be working on.

I'd suggest getting it out on a few blogs next, preferably ones that are indexed quickly if you're on a schedule. Also, get some tweets out there.

Considering you can safely set a url to ~4000 chars ( firefox can handle 100,000+ in the url bar ) Why not just go silly and make a stupidly long url?

Kyle, I tried your link lengthener and I just wanted you to know that it really works! My link went from one of these to one of these in less than two weeks! I may have overdone it once though because my URL stayed really hard (to find) for over four hours. Still, I recommend that all the boys runnin' those link farms and link wheels get one. Hey, maybe they could use it to lengthen each others URLs!
