Dump truck accident on the way home

As my wife and I are heading home after work this evening we saw a dump truck roll over on its side. Just north of Jasper Texas on hwy 96 the highway divides with anywhere from 100 - 200 feet between the north and south bound lanes. On this evening we had light drizzling rain.

I look over towards the south bound lane at just the right time to see a dump truck sliding off the highway, plowing through the wet dirt, throwing mud everywhere, then rolling over on its side.

My wife says to call 911. She then drives to the next turn around, which was maybe 1/8 - 1/4 mile from the accident site. I got on the phone to 911, report our location and what happened.

By the time we get back to the dump truck two black guys from the trailer park have run through traffic on a wet road, climbed on top of the truck, pulled open the door and are assisting the driver in exiting the truck.

My wife took these pics of the accident scene. I am the guy in the maroon long sleeve shirt.

The driver had a cut on his forehead, but otherwise seemed to be ok.

WOW! Clearly he must have been wearing a seat belt to end up okay after that.

wow, I'm glad the driver was ok. It's good that all of you rushed to the scene to help the driver.

So few REAL Good Samaritans exist anymore. Props to not only you and your wife, Kev, but everyone else that assisted this gentleman. Y'all epitomize the spirit and true meaning of Heroism.

Good to hear he's okay. My dad saw a grain truck flip over about 10 years ago. A lady was driving it and luckily she was okay too.
