When a storm is on it's way, our weather guy (on a local TV channel) get's all hyper and "smiley". I'm pretty much disgusted with whatever weather event is on it's way to us. He's just giddy.

The "B" team (non weekday weather person - I think it's a woman) is at least empathetic and not giddy about major weather events about to descend upon us.

It seems to a system wide problem, worse on some stations.

If you own any KHC I hope your basis is low. The market is punishing it real bad today, down about 27%. I'm holding with a buy order if it tanks even more.

At this moment, the S&P 500 is up, as well as the TSX. For me, these two usually are indicators of good or negative daily outcomes. As long as they hold positive today, the outcome today, will not only negate yesterday's losses, it will be slightly ahead.

I know a friend that gambled away millions thinking he was as good as a day-trader. He also threw a bunch of cash at "money pit" house, and near the end, was left with less than 10% of his initial investment. So what did he do - he proceeded to put that money into a "Mr. Lube" type operation. Within a year, it went under. Afterword's, it was determined that the previous owners did a ton of "cash" services (which they never disclosed), and when they left, their cash clients went with them to another operation. My friend was losing money every month until he had to just simply close down. he didn't have the cash to lawyer up and sue those bastages that hid all the cash money transitions, or get someone to do a forensic audit of the business to then have the means with which to sue the previous owners.

I don't have 20 years to play the markets, so other that some dabbling in the Asian markets with a small amount about a decade ago (that was not a good outcome), I'd not play with risky options no matter how good they may initially look.

Oh, forgot - about him building a racing car, investing in "race car transportation" trailers - sheesh, forgot about all that.

True day traders are very unlikely to make any money. I have never done, nor will I do an option trade. I will buy, hold and sell when the stock goes back up. I have never shorted a stock, nor will I. Sometimes it takes a lot longer than planned. Every get once in a while you lose.

Yet more rain today. Still may be better off than Michigan.

The sad part is the drought in the next few years to balance out the rainfall amounts.

Enjoy your weekend as best you can.

You too! Hold on to your hats if you haven't got the big wind yet. Tomorrow we're told to expect expecting 40-60MPH gusts.

Lotta wind today, overnight, and into Monday - especially those nearest the great lakes.

It is almost always windy around the lakes.

From where I'm sitting it looks like a decent day outside. If it doesn't change Wend. will be really nice.

I wish we would settle this China trade thing and get it behind us.

We see a gentle warm up, then cool down, then a slight warm up, then a cool down. It's does that a lot at this time of year when it's time for the weather to begin changing, but it really doesn't really want to, but then it does, but not for very long, then it's cold again.

Same old, same old.

Markets are positive - but its' still early in the day. I guess the markets like an "Oscar Night" event, without any host.

I think they liked Trump extending the trade deadline and not setting a new expire date.

Forced myself to basement for workshop cleaning / organization. That lasted about a hard hour. Another 20 or so and I may have the space I desire.

Do you play poker?

Nope. Well, I have played for fun with the kids. Playing for a little $$? Maybe 3 decades or so ago.

At one time I played some $1 (literally $1) sit and go tourney but my state froze the assets to protect me. Why they don't legalize and tax it I can't explain. Now I just play online for play money. Every great once in a while I take my $ out of state and play.

Early day the market, here, is going to recant some of yesterdays gains. I hope you fair better.

Gotta find my heating mat and start some tomato seeds in the next few days.

Too early here to see what the markets are doing. Will check later - I've got some appointments this morning.

According to the local meteorologists, the middle of March will see a big swing in warmer temps. For us, it'll be maybe 8-12C, but as long as it's warmer than the average, it'll melt snow and I'm good with that.

It's a record! Three days in a row with no rain.

Gonna make that arctic blast next week seem all the worse. Looks like it is going to be colder than the Clinton bedroom where you are.

LOL! Nice one!

Yep, next week will be a cold one - but not anything we're not used to. And saying that is more than a bit Canadian.

It was a nice couple of day's run with the Markets, but that may be over with what's going on today. I wonder who sneezed.

Who knows! The market is always looking for a reason to move up or down. A bunch of lemmings. And don't even get me started with a rant about the programmed trades.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Path report was clean. They said they would mail it but they put the report on the portal and the results have been there for 2+ weeks. I was fully impressed with the hospital staff but the admin department not so much.
