Flickr Acquired By SmugMug

My guess is that being in the valley, smugmug will definitely find a way to make flickr profitable, and secure in it's own space so to speak, but I don't really see it becoming a fore front social media or brand again... Not with the current trends in platforms and traffic.

Jack I don't think Flickr is in direct competition with social media. At least they would not be if they concentrated on their core business. Maybe they just lost their way for a bit.

I wasn't trying exactly to say its in competition for traffic with social media per say, more like that sites like flickr, deviantart, pinterest are some what of a social media of some sort.
