Rookie mistake

Hello, I need an advice. I started Clickbank affiliate website 10 months ago. Domain name has 27 (please don't laugh) characters. I built quality links, but website is nowhere to be found. Should I register different domain and redirect my backlinks to new website or should I try to rank this one?

Perhaps your site is not ranking because of the content. Did you write your own descriptions/articles for the affiliate products you are promoting? or just copy and paste what you were given by the affiliate company?

If the later, that is why you are not ranking. Duplicate content.

No, articles are unique, about 500 words each. I have over thirty unique articles. But, in WMT, there are only two search queries and list is not increasing even after ten months.

I think the best option here is to get a new website with a much easy and appealing domain and work on it. Create new articles and make it bigger and better.
Use the old domain to point to the new one and you got a awesome backlink to start with.

Yes, you are probably right, if I don't see SERP increasing in the next month or two, I will register new domain name and continue to write unique content.

Hi,

Domain length should not impact your chances of ranking well. Google prefers upto 60 characters for domains with the shorter being the better range. But it is good idea to say that keywords placed in your domain, will help to improve your SEO ranking.
But the thing is, a long domain is usually hard for anyone to remember and people also love short & punchy domains that can be memorized easily. But a long domain with the keywords, is always better than the domains with hyphens, numbers or too many periods.

number of characters shouldn't matter. Did you purchase a ton of links at the same time?

Length of domain name is not an issue in the eyes of Google. However nowadays the brand recognition is very strong factor in rankings. Therefore short names that are easy to remember are much better and easier to promote in search engines.

People are hunting for short domains not because of SEO, just to make better-looking email addresses and more people remembering and recognizing the site name.

So, if you ask if it is better to change the domain - yes, it is. But if you ask if it is going to resolve the SEO issue - I'm really not sure.

Is your site indexed by google, and have your made your google webmaster tool through verifying your site. Your domain name is also too long. You can purchase a short domain for the site and direct the old site to it and optimize its on page and off page information.
See how to search indexing in google search. type in google search
site:yourdomain and see does it open each article you have had posted on your site or not.

You can have a kind of experiment - register short domain name and use 301 redirect from your web site. In this case you will soft shift to new domain name. Then you will see how situation change or not.

And if you found out post it here. I can hardly imagine that domain name length matters.
