Seems like I'm going to jump directly to windows8 from windows xp. I couldn't like windows 7 because it makes me feel like I'm using windows vista

Actually I hope that Windows 8 will not disappoint me much. Sure there are no limits for perfectness, but it should be cool and attractive for all the users as well. And the presentation is really interesting and new Widows 8 looks like something really new.

What you need to know now about Windows 8

If you’ve heard that Windows 8 is for the dogs or that it will look like a phone, you haven’t heard the whole story.

Permit me to step you through what we know about Windows 8 and give some insight into what we don’t know. Microsoft has dropped a few hints — some intentionally, some inadvertently — about where we’re headed.

Looking forward to Windows 8, hopefully it will be faster than 7 and will eat lesser memory and cooler effects.

Wait, what? Nothing new? I think you're looking on the wrong feature list my friend if you can't see anything new.

I find Windows 7 pretty fast as long as you have 2GB RAM minimum. It's much faster than Vista but certainly not XP.

I dont think XP's speed can be matched with any newer OS. However, the security in XP is still a problem. And the IE10 or whatever browser as well which is not working in XP :S

True. You could always use Firefox though and at least XP doesn't have UAC

I am expecting that Windows 8 will not be resource friendly as its' interfaces may gonna a bit heavier so it will obviously take more memory and thus for using it, I need to upgrade the memory of my system from 2GB and that is not what I like to do

Yeah. Windows 7 just about runs ok with 2GB of RAM, but I'm guessing 4GB will be the minimum (in practice) that Windows 8 will need.

I'm waiting for the official release of Windows 8. Hopefully it would be good OS.

BTW, your computer can run well on Windows 7 with 1gb of RAM.

Waiting only for the time when my XP I prefer to use will not be supported by software manufacturers so I will have to switch to the latest version. But not earlier.

Windows 8 looks really good but I am worried if it is only a layer and underneath it is the operating system which looks just like windows 7.

Is window 8 out? I think the window 7 also features good! Already accustomed to it!
