Since Google cannot access anyone's server logs, and therefore can measure bounce rate for only a small sub-set of the universe of on-line resources, it would be illogical for it consider such vis-a-vis SERP rank.

Reasonable Bounce Rate

Hi Guys
Just been checking over google analytics for all my websites and looking at the bounce rate as well, what would be a reasonable bounce rate. At the moment the best rate is around 50% and I'm thinking that is not very good.

Would the number of unique visitors determine a 30% bounce rate?

Not so. If he has enough page visits then bounce rate doesn't effect. 50%-70% bounce rate is very common.

You can't say that. It really depends on the type of content being offered and the number of related pages in the site.

Have you read this thread?

If so, how did you come to miss the fact that there is no such thing as the "right rate"?

Have you read this thread?

If so, how did you come to miss the fact that the bounce rate is not correlated to the traffic volume?

Yes, but even if you had posted the correct article ... the visitors WOULD have got the information they needed and then left!

Depends on what your goals are, and whether or not you are attaining them.

If you didn't read the thread, or rather the very first post, you'd probably be able to determine if that number is good or bad for you.

Main site averages 26% bounce rate, but still has over 75% new visitors for the same time so probably need to define better goals before saying if this is good for us or not

35% of bounce rate.

My website bounce rate for the last three months is 35%. Many websites having more than 30% bounce rate. Will it effect on ranking or earnings?

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits in which the person left your site from the entrance. If the degree of bounce rate decreases, implies the relevant visitor on the other hand if the percentage increases means are not relevant visitors.

Not necessarily.

Your web page may have provided them with exactly what they needed and therefore they don't need to visit any other pages ...

Or, it may mean that more are heeding a call-to-action that leads to a 3rd-party page.

That, of course, would be good news.

Bottom line: Bounce rate may in fact be postively correlated to success.
