Utility software like that has always, traditionally, been something you buy once and then use as much as you want. I know the "rental / streaming rather than ownership" model is something which a lot of industries are adopting (even stuff like film, music and games), but this one is harder to swallow than the others for me for some reason. Do you not agree?

Rip-off is a strong way of expressing it. Not a business model that I plan to support is the extra polite way. I think we are both saying the exact same thing.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Gimp. Does everything Photoshop does (more or less) and its free.

Obviously if you use other programs from the Adobe Suite, then this doesnt help much I guess.
