You need to more specific on your requirement. Affordable hosting? Budget around? How about disk space? Bandwith? Email space? Domain? etc....

For GoDaddys cheapest plan I was a little surprised in the performance. I'm not sure if I got lucky and got a shared hosting server where everyone else is under utilizing or something, but I did see it was performing faster than hosting the same site on bluehost and hostgator.

Don't go for affordable web hosting only, make sure that you are also receiving following key features as they are important to avoid any critical problems in future.

* cPanel control panel ( Its optional , you can also select control panel as per your requirement )
* SSD Hard Drives ( For better performance )
* FREE SSL Certificate ( Its optional but it will help you to create trust between your users)
* Cloudflare CDN ( For DDOS protection )
* Softaculous Script Installer ( Useful to install third party script like wordpress, joomla easily from cPanel control panel without any technical knowledge )
* Remote Backup ( Its useful to secure data )
* 24x7 Unlimited Support Instance ( Useful to manage technical issues)
* 24x7 Server Monitoring ( Its optional but good if you able to receive it)

Select hosting provider who able to deliver above features

For shared hosting, you can go with iPage or GoDaddy.
For VPS, I recommend Dreamhost (It is affordable and provide good uptime and support).

You get what you pay for. I think if you are looking for really good hosting services you need to be ready to pay for that.
Price should not be a core feature in your search.

You get what you pay for.
I wonder: Do Godaddy limit your data and ask to upgrade? Have you ever been asked to upgrade?

Ipage and Godaddy are the best budget hosting providers in the market. I started with Ipage and hosted my sites over two years on ipage. Then I moved to Inmotion. Nowadays, I'm using cloudways. Cloudways manage wordpress hosting is very easy to use than other cpanel hosts.

My sites are hosted on kinsta and Host gator and till date I haven't faced any downtime.
I would recommend you to do a proper research before choosing any hosting. You may talk to their support team if you have any pre-sales queries.

I don't recommend cheap web hosting from companies such as godaddy or even hostgator now that they have been acquired by EIG. Suppose your site gets featured on a popular blog or Reddit. Your site would crash on a cheap host, losing out on all the new visitors. Look for hosting you could easily scale as your site grows.

Currently I'm using siteground and hostgator Hosting for all of my blog and I'm happy with their service. But if you want to buy cheap one, then you can go for namecheap, godaddy, asmallorange etc.

You already got so many options by the forum members but before you decide your web host, i believe you should know the answers to following questions -
1. Where most people host their websites?
2. What CMS do they use? Does the host provide support for that CMS?
3. What features or services should I look for before choosing the web host?
4. Is there a way to save money in web-hosting?
5. How to make use of promotion price for long time?

I believe once you know the answer to these questions, it will be easy for you to decide "what could the cheapest option for me". Because we cannot just decided what is cheapest based on just one factor.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
DigitalHarpreet

I am using Bluehost, The most reliable shared hosting provider, there are over 2 million domain owners who hosted their sites on Bluehost.

There are some reasons for loving Bluehost.
- First of all great customer support.
- Give you anytime money back guarantee.
- Compare to other hosts Bluehost servers are fast
- The best feature is CPU throttling

Yes I haven't tried godaddy hosting yet but heard lots of bad things about it. One of the group members rightly said - go with any hosting and then upgrade with your requirements.
Hosting needs depends on your business type.

Namecheap hasn't been mentioned before in this thread, but I would definitely recommend their web hosting services. I've had experiences with several web hosting companies, but I found Namecheap to be best. The Namecheap web hosting packages are a whole lot cheaper than those of other hosting companies such as Bluehost and Hostgator. In addition, I found their support to be extremely helpful and respond a lot faster than Support teams of other hosting companies.

For affordable web hosting you can go with HostSoch . Their plans are cheaper and reliable. The shared hosting starts from Rs.99/month with limited features. However, the Unlimited shared hosting starts from Rs.149/month which provides Unlimited space and bandwidth, FREE domain name for lifetime and more..
