3 Ways to Keep Your Blog Business and Home Office Safe

If I had a business I'd do all of this.

Quote:
For many bloggers, ‘home’ is also where the ‘home office’ is. Running any type of business from your home can have it’s pros and cons. One thing that bloggers and entrepreneurs working from home should continually have on their minds, is the protection and safety of running a business or profitable blog from the same place where they sleep and live.

With this in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to create a useful resource on how home-based businesses and bloggers can help keep their businesses, family and themselves safe at the same time.

That's a great Idea.

Here is what I do.

Backup my sites on my web host, I get a copy of that backup and move it on my usb HDD that I have a safe for (plus other personal things).

The backup is on my laptop but if that crash's I got the USB HDD and can use an old desktop till I repair the laptop to keep the sites running with zero data loss. My personal phone is also my work phone and I have clients personal numbers on it. I backup that data and put on the USB HDD that goes into my safe. I can't do my job if I don't have there contact number and direct email access to them.

Yeah, I do take backup on regular basis and there are a plethora of plugins for the same.

I do save them at three to four places, just in case if I lost access to any one of them

In previous years, the concept of having a server in your home might have seemed like a good idea to power your websites, but it’s actually just an extra added cost and complication you shouldn’t have to deal with.
This makes it sound like most people are still like Hillary Clinton, wanting their own private servers. I think with the advent of Cloud based hosting, this trend should already be on its way out.

As regards backups, I periodically take the ones provided by my hosting company & put them up on Google drive. My google drive syncs to multiple machines so there are multiple local copies in addition to the one in the cloud.
