Yes, I got out on Sunday with my youngest for a final round before taking the clubs home. It was a really nice day for being so late in the season.

I really like our club. There are literally no "starting times" needed. You just show up and choose which 18 to play. The longest I've waited to tee-off is about 5 minutes. I can choose to join someone if they're going off the tee, or just wait and play the round on my own.

They're adding new membership options for next year which I think will fit my availability better. It's affordable, with no monthly minimums at the bar/restaurant. I recall a few times my BIL called to take us out to dinner because at his golf club, they had to spend $350 (or whatever the amount was) every month, or they'd just take the money anyhow.

Good for you.

The local course as it was dying tried start a forced F&B membership for the homeowners. That went over like a screen door in a submarine. The food in those places is usually cheap hotel quality at best and for me they are best avoided.

Our club has a "dining room" that doubles as a "regular food" area.

The food is very average, but they don't claim it's great quality either. In fact, the best part of the room, is how it overlooks a somewhat scenic 18th green on one of the courses. A very "makeable" par 5 finishing hole.

I think next year the outside patio overlooking the 18th green, opens, making the approach shots (over water to a kind-of island green) a bit unnerving."

No thanks. I've dodged all the golf balls I care to dodge in this lifetime.

Is your weather still moderate?

I'm killing time until the night chill is gone before I go outside to 'play' for a couple of hours. We are to be in the nice day category for the next few days.

We're getting cooler - normal highs around 12C. Meaning, we'll get some 14's and some 8-9's.

AZ's looking pretty nice right about now - highs in the mid to high 80'sF and plenty of sunshine. No emoji here for "jealous".

12C is a bit on the chilly side.

OTOH 80F is not my style either.

Today was sunny, no wind and 65F. I mowed the grass in shorts and was comfortable.

With that kind of weather, I'd be golfing for sure!

Except for the dead heat of summer I am fairly happy with our weather.

Have you done all the Generals ToDos yet? I surely have not completed my list.

General ToDos? Nope - too many things have gotten in the way. Looking out the window this morning, this could be the day I get it done.

Then - the inside stuff starts. Painting, purging and then trying to figure out where to take/get rid of the purged stuff - Ugh.

What other things are on your Todo list?

Too long to list but first I have to finish the pond. Spent the last 2 hours buying the things I need. A quick trip to the basement for some stuff and then I guess it is to the muck pit.

Today should see the last of the muck out and the very small footer poured where the rocks settled and became precarious. Nothing substantial just a mortar bed an inch or so thick to level the ground and pitch it away from the pond. The hard part was figuring out how to support the mud and liner while it dries. Pulling the liner is not an option. I think I have that worked out.

More later on how that works out.

I've just got too much other stuff going on to get anything done around here!

Hopefully tomorrow (if it's dry) will get some outside stuff done.

Waiting with baited breath for more details on the "mud caper" details!

Framed and poured. And the framing held. It is just light enough to see right now and it is set. It took way longer to frame than expected; just to many angles.

The final muck comes out when the forms come down. Today must be about getting ready for the predicted monsoon rain tonight / tomorrow.

I envy your longer outdoor working weather. This time around for me, now that the days are getting shorter, and colder (clocks turn back next weekend - UGH!), I think I'll be able to handle it better since I'll be away down south for 5 weeks of the winter.

The only problem is, my boys, even though they are adults, are quite frankly - piglets. I may have to secure house cleaners while I'm away.

Discuss with them how much a cleaning service costs and that it is there job to make sure the place is clean. If they are smart they will clean up the day before you get home. That's about the best you can hope for.

All I have to say is the rain better come. It wasn't pleasant out there at all this morning but the forms are down, liner in place, all muck gone, the pump in place to empty it yet again and the work area is under a temp tarp.

I took some pictures of that form and will share them with you soon.

I see I can load remote images though I can't upload them

I will tell them how much the cleaning costs will be. And, if they balk at it, I'll secure the service anyhow, and charge it back to them when we return. Failure to pay will necessitate withholding Internet and/or Netflix services until said amount is paid in full!

I've watched "My Cousin Vinny" 4 or 5 times.

Well it is a valid consideration. How many people can fit in you rec room? Where will they put the iced keg? Is the bathroom close?

We got some of your weather today. Rain, drizzle, wet and chilly though the temp isn't all that low.

Go ahead and go. The boys need a chance to relax.
