Press/news release over article submission

With the panda update the article submission work seems to be gloomy. What will be effect of the press/news release in the link building or traffic generation process? Need real advice.

Ezinearticles, Buzzle and other major article directories have dropped significantly in the SERPS. And it was because of latest google update over its SERP.

The idea behind article marketing, previously, was to simply write great content and submit that content to an “authority site” and promote that new page by getting a massive number of backlinks to the page. But these days algorithm has been changed a bit so there is a huge downfall for article sites. Google's Algorithm Change Kills Article Marketing a lot.

If we talk about press release then its uh! really effective there days with same effectiveness over google and all other major search engines.

Press releases are one of the most effective ways of driving spikes of traffic to your website while building backlinks.

Press releases are used to deliver something newsworthy to the media to spark a story or feature. Press release websites help you distribute your announcement to magazines, newspapers, websites, social media sites, and television and radio stations.

With press release you get an instant exposure and a quality contextual back link. After the Google panda all major article directories have lost traffic so it is better to focus on press release. For some keywords you can on first page of Google if your press release is #1 which will give you instant exposure.

Yes, press releases do provide you with instant exposure. However, you need to be cautious about how often you do release them. Reserve press releases for only news worthy content. When it comes to press releases, quality will benefit your company, not quantity.

The death of article directories is being declared too early. Concentrate on writing quality articles and you won't have too many problems in my view. Press releases can be good, but only if you have something that's worth saying (and newsworthy).

I think this should not be an alternative question: doing both will give better result than doing the only one.

I don't think article submission is dead. I think quality articles will still get you good results. Press releases are great to get you quick back links but a balance of both would be best.

Ezine and other article directories might have dropped down significantly in SERPs, but take a look at their membership base, which is increasing every 10-15 seconds. I might not be correct, but both articles as well as press releases still have their value, if written properly.

I prefer press releases over articles because the former is an effective marketing tool that remains useful even to this day. Not only are they indexed by the search engines for natural listings, online reporters and journalists can use and feature them in their web sites. That provides additional links for your web site. Beyond just promoting on the internet, press releases give my business more credibility to my customers.
