I haven't use even one of those duplicate checker tools. But as per many writers is preferred, CopyScape can be a good one.

I have a bit experience with Copyscape but sometimes they show unnecessary results.

What do you mean by unnecessary results?

Why do you think that checking duplicate content is a waste of time? In my opinion, it is as much important as anything else.

There is no duplicate content penalty (never was one).

So explain to me why do you think it is important to waste your time checking duplicate content.

Maybe they read this:
Quote:
Duplicate content on a site is not grounds for action on that site unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulate search engine results. If your site suffers from duplicate content issues, and you don't follow the advice listed above, we do a good job of choosing a version of the content to show in our search results.

However, if our review indicated that you engaged in deceptive practices and your site has been removed from our search results, review your site carefully. If your site has been removed from our search results, review our Webmaster Guidelines for more information. Once you've made your changes and are confident that your site no longer violates our guidelines, submit your site for reconsideration.

In rare situations, our algorithm may select a URL from an external site that is hosting your content without your permission. If you believe that another site is duplicating your content in violation of copyright law, you may contact the site’s host to request removal. In addition, you can request that Google remove the infringing page from our search results by filing a request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Duplicating content

We recently wrote and in-depth post on article site sourced content. Duplicating content is a pretty simple concept. You’re posting content which already appears somewhere online. Using articles from third-party sources, copying and pasting from another source and using standardized product descriptions for items you’re selling all fall into this category. Your content should be unique and not appear anywhere else online. Building unique content takes work.

I am already fully aware of that.

As far as catching people that steal your content. I rather not bother wasting my time because it could turn into a great amount of time wasted that does not return any value (money).

Yes you can issue DMCA's (which I have done before) but again it could turn into a great amount of time wasted. Time that could have been used to write more unique content and marketing your site.
