Learning How to Write Headlines

This blog post might come in handy for a few members.

Quote:
The headline is a critical component of writing, but we often spend little time crafting it. Pretty much everything you write online requires one, and some of what you write is nothing more than a headline. Here are some tips to help you write better headlines.

First and foremost a perfect headline serves its primary purpose. It grabs readers' attention and compels them to keep reading. If it accomplishes nothing else, it's still a great headline.

If you want to grab Google's attention, your title headline must contain keywords. Applying this simple fact turned the Tribune Company around from bankruptcy in 2008. (The Tribune Company owns the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times, and other news properties.) At first, the editors and reporters at these newspapers didn't like the idea of inserting keywords into their creative headlines. They changed their view rapidly when their articles began to receive traffic from Google and bankruptcy was averted.

What I do to help get my titles is by simply going to google.com and simply start typing in parts of phrases, then consider any of the 10 phrases that google could fill that blank with. Those 10 phrases are the most highly searched phrases, so it would make sense to use them in titles, hint hint!

I find it hard sometimes to have keywords in my title. I just try to make sure it can catch your eye most of the time. So you will click on the article.

I find the best way to optimize a title on the page is to use good keywords that are theme relevant to the page. Then i combined the keyword with a strong call to action.
Eg. Affordable copy writing services or Quality copy writing services
