How can I get into content creation and boost my author rank?

I've always loved computers and the English Language. I want to start contributing content but I don't know where.

If you want to start content contributing, then you must search for the websites of your same niche. If you are writing content about computers, then you can start contributing in the websites who accept these kinds of content. Good Luck for your start!

well, at first you may try to create your own blog on wordpress, or at networkedblogs.com or on technorati.com and start writing catchy materials on what bothers you most and what could possible bother the audience. After you started your own blog, you may write several guest blogs or you can seek headhuntering sites where companies are looking for content managers or bloggers - thus you can be paid for you job.

Just start writing! There's a good chance no one will work with you unless you have experience or examples of your brilliant writing they can refer too. So if you're just starting out, I would create your own blog and just start writing about things that interest you. You will probably stink at first but that stink will wear off with practice.

Why don't you just write and share your articles with us?

Some great guys on this forum can point your drawbacks as well as plus points too so that you can enhance your writing skills.

The secret to becoming a professional writer - meaning someone whom actually gets paid for the things they write - is to write as if addicted, and find people willing to give you money for what you would gladly do for free.

The bottom line is this, if you aren't passionately addicted to writing, it will show in your work. If your work is subpar due to a lack of passion, nobody is going to want to pay you for it (ok, a few will, but just because there's a sucker born every minute doesn't mean that you can live off of those sorts of jobs).

If you write with love for what you are writing about however, you will earn a following. Eventually. Once you have some fans, then you simply have to give them something to spend money on.

Can you read the opening post in this thread and perhaps form a reply on topic?

First, Just write. Build your 'name' in the industry of writing. Make you own Blog and get a buzz on the cyber world. Make things credible enough for somebody will just hire you to write for them. And apparently, paid content will come to you instantly.

Well you could contribute your content to the forum related to your niche.
Go Google and type "your niche" + "forum"

Or you could start writing on your blog, wordpress etc.

Or maybe facebook

Join facebook group related to your niche and contribute your knowledge to that facebook group.
