Web Pages Showing As Text Only

I've been building a website using MS word and I finished all the pages and they all look fine when I open them in a browser locally but after I upload them to my host and try to access them over the web the pages load as plain text and even sometimes in chinese! See here bluegrassmedia.tv/lsm/index.htm

The pages still look fine if I open them locally. I've never encountered this problem before. Any ideas?

Linux has about 80% of the server business and not all servers are configured to treat .htm as .html. You can try just renaming them or you might have to save them again and force the .html.

Once I added the l to your page ( bluegrassmedia.tv/lsm/index.html) your 404 page loaded just fine.

Looks like you forgot to add a meta-tag with character set in your webpages, that could be the problem.

Here is a link with some informations on the subject:

That's not the issue, I thought there might be an issue with Word so I created a test page from scratch and it loads fine, except that the background image isn't centered for some reason. You can view the test page here bluegrassmedia.tv/lsm/test.htm

I'm not sure what the difference is between this page and all the others. I made it using the same program and saved it as the same file type as all the others.

I checked the header meta tag in wordpad

<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=unicode">

Is that right?

Ok, I fixed it.

SOMEHOW the encoding was changed to UCS-2. I changed it back to UTF-8 in notepad++ and it's all good now.
