What languages to use for this?

Hi there,

Before I start looking for a freelancer to do the job need some advice...

My website is built with a script (dolphin - built with javascript + php) and basically I modified it so (much) that changed its original purpose, and in my case visitors do not add groups/pages or whatever, only the admin does.

To create those groups/pages the script has the tinyMCE which is way limited , only generates issues in my case, and cannot even have the feeling how the page will look like if I don'save it before.
(can't even upload pictures with it...)

Since all the pages will have the same format I was thinking in creating an external editor (something like studio.mywebsite.com) which has exactly the same aspect as the final page lookalike and here I can arrange the page as I want then once ready press the "post" button and it will go to the database create the needed tables so that the page shows up on the website.

(The images uploaded with this editor will be uploaded to a static files server)

Question is: What is the best technology to use to create an editor that is WYSIWYG and is stable and is not a fiasco?

Thanks a lot for your inputs

KR

USE CMS like WP, and ask your coder to design a custom theme according to your functions.

Kind Regards

I don't understand your question. You said "languages" in the topic title but then "technologies" in the post. If you are really asking about language, it's quite irrelevant since any programming language that has decent integration with web and support for your database will do fine. Either way most of your programming will be in JavaScript since it sounds like you plan on creating the editor from scratch.

Unless you're saying you want a desktop application, in which case again, any language will do, but you won't need the heavy JavaScript code. Go with a language that you're familiar with in the context of graphical user interface design (since most of your code will be for the GUI); Java is easy to get started (with Swing and such).
