Backlink creation is a complex and lengthy task. After using SEMrush tool, I can capably create quality backlinks easily and I would definitely go for SEMrush because its very easy to use and you get best info about backlinks.

Nothing to back up your statement then?

Semrush is a waste of time.

I have a site that has 200(isn) back links - confirmed by google (and myself!)

Semrush can find 2 back links!!! Yes, 2.

Semrush is useless.

I would not advise to use it for your monitoring (and/or building) inbound links, semrush will not show all linksdata, at least as well as ahrefs!

Seomoz and Majestic i - didn't use.
yes i dont like semrush so much, have checked many times backlink its totally wrong. my sites got more than 200 thousands backlinks in google websmastertool, whereas semrush show nothing backlink for my sites, its crazy wrong

It's just a plain weird tool...it shows me no. of links from a domain is 45 where I know it isn't any more than 7. Also, for majority of the competitors it shows ~0 organic traffic ~0 backlinks when actually its a completely different story.

I personally use majestic just to check how many links exist for me and for competitors - as said above top 10 available in free view gives you a decent idea. For Ahrefs, I've heard good reviews but personally its a bit too expensive for me and given it asks for credit card info even for 1 free month i haven't used it (have been bitten once by this and would never try it again :/).

If I was starting out I would use semrush to get an overall picture of what the website was about I was investigating as well as usefull keyword tool in there and recently has a audit tool you can integrate on your website.

Ahrefs is becoming a BEAST and seems to be kept more up to date on the database side as well as a new keyword api integrated which is looking good in testing.

I still use Majestic , I actually started only with this tool, another good tool to diagnose quality backlinks and anchor text profile percentage ratios.

The best thing in your case is to trial each one, they have free versions to start with I believe, trial and see what works best for you and stick with it and then scale up later.

No one every said tools are cheap but when you look at the big picture, the tool helps you out in so many ways then if you used a free tool with less features or not even updated often..

Im currently using majestic for backlinks. Its a great tool as it can tell me all the new backlinks in great detail, that have been indexed as well as all of the lost one. Plus with the added trust and citation flow that isn't on other tools, shows just how trustworthy a site actually is.
