Thumbs up How to Rank Keywords

How to rank keywords for a particular location i.e city or state without mentioning the location name within the keywords? And what should be the work strategy?

By not wanting to mention the city, state, location etc, - are you referring to the text in the body, or somewhere else in the code?

You have to add your city, states name in Meta Title, Description tags to rank it in your local areas.

I think it is impossible for a local site to optimize without city/state names, though google SE has little capability to provide local results but it is not optimal depending only such criteria. But using Google my business listing targets your local market, it would provide your listing to local googlers without you using local area keywords. If at all you want to go with the same, your backlinks with city/state names in keywords may help to some extent.

What keywords were you referring to? Keywords with, or without the geo-specific qualifier?

Some ideas are:
  • Add address schema coding around your business address.
  • Host your site on a web server in the appropriate country. Not just a web hosting company in that country - a web data center in that country.
  • Country specific domain name.
  • Mention the place in the content without going overboard.

No guarantee that these ideas will work but together they may help with good on-site and on-page SEO.

Why do you want to leave out keywords with location names in them? Those will be even longer tail keywords (e.g. Car rental services in Hyderabad) & easier to rank for.

Local Keywords are easy to rank if you properly implement Google Local Listing. After that post into some of the local listing sites. It may be paid or free.
Optimize the content and gradually you can rank locally.

Use schema markup on your NAP to give the search engines all they need to display your company information correctly. Local reviews have a direct impact on local search rankings, get your Google my business page set up....

I love it when a member starts a thread with a question a week ago, and then doesn't have the courtesy to come back to the thread to respond to the replies, even though the OP is currently active on the forum. Real tacky.

Who, BTW, is apparently "an expert in digital marketing" according to the member's BIO.
