SOCIAL BOOKMARKING & STORY SUBMISSION: Drive More Trafic and Get Indexed Quicker

Social bookmarking involves submitting bookmarks that are shown on the bookmarking website for the public instead of privately on your computer. Story Submission is the process of finding a web page and submitting it to the story submission website to share with others.

Often other users of the story submission site can “vote” a story up or down, increasing or decreasing it's exposure. You benefit from both methods via the backlinks they produce for you and the human traffic that finds your link on the social bookmarking or story submission site and clicks through to
your site.

Create account at TrailFire, download the toolbar and make a "Trail" with
link to your website and other relevant sites
____ If appropriate, add as green company at FiveLimes
____ Add an on-topic and useful "tip" at DayTipper with link to site for additional
info.
____ Add an on-topic and useful “tip” at Tipstrs with link to the site in “Link”
box.
____ Find relevant weblist at RateItAll and add site URL/profile
____ Start a conversion & answer others at Creamaid using site URL/anchor text
____ Submit URL to Onlywire with Web2Submitter.
You will need to create an account at all of the sites Onlywire supports and add them to
your OnlyWire account. Submission can be done by hand by visiting Onlywire and
submitting manually.
____ Submit URL to Digg, Netscape, Reddit, Shoutwire, Plime, Newsvine, and
StumbleUpon with Web2Submitter
This may be done by hand by visiting the individual sites and submitting manually.

Thanks for the informative idea clyd3robert
I would like to add some pointers for it. You
can also try social networking site, where you
can create a blog. And you can put your newly
created articles with keywords *if that particular
social networking site allowed links* and the more
friends you have in your account, the easier you
can generate traffic from it.

That is correct... Like submitting interesting news to social networking, submitting stories can also generate traffic for your site and give quality backlinks. If you notice people don't just like links. They want something where they can get an information.

Thumbs down Social bookmarking method

Social bookmarking is a method for Internet users to store, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web pages on the Internet with the help of metadata, typically in the form of tags that collectively and/or collaboratively become a folksonomy. Folksonomy is also called social tagging, "the process by which many users add metadata in the form of keywords to shared content"

well it's one of the most quickest way to fetch heavy traffic

It really works, just provide a catchy title and an appropriate description and you are there.

within minutes your story will be uploaded and expect good traffic for flashing news.

Social bookmarking - yes

Article submission - This is something I do not do.

Over the past several months I have seen too many people copying and pasting articles from those article submission sites. And none of the people posting the articles will provide a backlink to the original.

So you could get a duplicate content penalty from google, and no reward for your efforts.

I have thought about submitting articles, but I just can not find a good reason to do so. Sure a backlink and a little traffic would be nice. But those articles would better if they were posted "only" on my site. And with content on my site, google will give a better ranking.

According to who?

Google doesn't penalize for duplicate contents, they ignore duplicate contents. Only the original written copy receives credit. If you wrote the article first, and it gets indexed into Google first, then every duplicate copy will get ignored... no link juice.. etc.
