If you're a designer follow designers.
If you're a marketing person go follow SEO, marketing experts etc.
When I started using twitter I followed as much people as possible.
There is a 2000 user's limit that you should be aware of.
In order to be allowed to have more to follow more than 2k people you have to have a lot of updates and a lot of people to follow you.
