Its also good to follow but make sure they follow you back in return. Before, I am keen on however I'm following and all should be a niche based. I just followed certain twitter that has a unique and interesting post. I comment on them and send them message to give credit on their post/updates that makes sense to me and eventually as a return, they follow me back...

In short, its better to have neutral follower=following.

You have no chance to make follower, if the person does not follow you willingly. But normally if u follow a people, u can expect, that people would follow you. But no guarantee.

Having more people following you increases your credibility. If you are following 2,000 people and 14 are following you that really looks like crap.

U cannot follow 2000 people at a time. U must have at least 1850 followers to follow 2000th people.

You can't control the number of people following you, unless you forced them or casually invite them. I gotta say Following < Followers. People would follow you for some natural reasons and one of those is the quality of your tweets / the relevancy of your tweets to their interests.

Yes I agree to this, we cannot forced other people to follow us but they usually follow us because they like our tweets and although some people follow us just to gain followers and then un-follows us after you have follows them and it is very difficult to tracked who un-follows us..

Since I've been using twitter since 2007, different machinations have been put in place to keep the follower:followee ratio in check. Do not get caught up in the hype of having thousands and thousands of followers. Rationally speaking it is impossible to be engaged with that many people.

i think that the point is not on having many followers but on having quality followers. i don't want to follow anybody whose tweets are: 'i'm going for lunch' or 'it's rainy today here in barcelona'.

Using the twitter search bar for those that have the same interests will allow you to get and gather those tweeps that have same interests as you. Sometimes it's good to get outside your niche of tweeps and interact with others.

Use a desktop app like seesmic or tweetdeck to group these different type folks and you will eventually see how you will begin to have different groups of followers that are truly interested in you and your contributions to a particular subject matter.

follower < following, following> follower both is important. if you have follower more people will be following you. If many are following you, you will have more follower.
