Facebook Beats GOOGLE

You will be amazed to know that according to the Hitwise data, Facebook made it pass through Google to become the most visited website in the U.S. facebook has did the same on Christmas and new year eve too.

I think now internet marketing norms need to be change if it is not better to interact with real people (via SMO) then it is equal important to dealing with crawls (Via SEO).

What say guys???

Facebook is the second largest website in the whole world and number 1 in those where people spend most of their time.

I'm impressed.

I remember a few years ago with the owner of facebook turned down a huge offer (I think it was $750 million) for face book. I think was saying at that time it was worth at least $1 billion.

Anyways, I guess when you are able to give Google some serious competition, you do have an extremely valuable asset.

Very impressive.

Although facebook beats google in terms of most viewed website but both have different area of expertise so we can't compare them.

Yes Friend your correct we all know Google as the Leaders in the Social Networking Site, after the entry of Face Book the Visitors are mostly attracted towards it and Google is missing so many Viewers daily. The SEO and SMO has made Face Book in the top position, so can any one give more Features about the Face Book. bye have a great day.

Yeh Facebook has beet the Google in term of number of visitors in US.
Facebook and Google are related to totally different domains and they are trying to beat each others. Let see what happened.

Facebook doesn't beat Google. Are you kidding me? Come on...you're not comparing apples to apples. Facebook beats Google Buzz, but Google is so much more than networking. Don't forget that Google owns YouTube and so much more. Google is an empire. Facebook is just a social networking giant. Nothing beats Google as a whole...nothing.

just read full report facebook really beat google hitwise and same happen 2 more times in USA, 1 on occasion of 25th December and other on New Year eve and now again on first week of March.

IT was Google who was having less traffic than facebook in USA only.

You still can't say Facebook beat Google based on traffic...seriously! I would much rather be the CEO of Google rather than Facebook. Google is raking in the money hand over fist. Facebook is great and is a great success but you can't compare the two.

My pooper scooper site may have more traffic than your litter box site but that doesn't mean anything because one is for dogs and one is for cats.

You're right; they are not apples to apples, except in one important factor - they both sell advertising. I have no doubt Google's corporate execs pay close attention to any competitor for keyboard time.

You get no argument from me there, regarding keyboard time. Google definitely pays attention to that because they won't to monopolize the online experience. I just don't see it as a fair statement to say Facebook beats Google.

I don't think you've won necessarily. Facebook is a niche really. It's all about social networking. Google provides more than that. I think in terms of Google Buzz, Facebook most definitely wins. But if I own YouTube and you own Facebook, would you consider me the winner if I had more hits on YouTube this month than you did on Facebook. Isn't that like Wal-Mart vs. HEB?
